The heroes confronted the blood-sucking creature, he revealed that he had an agreement with the mysterious Nadir. The creature plaguing Daggerford was a vampire Dar Lavien who unleashed the undead on the population. The following day Sir Isteval revealed the city has been plagued by unholy creatures, disappearances for two days and that it was unsafe moving Christos until the crisis has been dealt with. The adventures quickly noticed that something was not right in Daggerford, the streets were empty, the inn was too quiet, and the grim-looking city guards traveled only in pairs. Finding nothing, he commanded the heroes to be put up in the Dragonback Inn at the Dutchess' expense.

He drew blood from each person and studied it. The Purple Dragon commanded all present at the scene to submit to the knife. Unlike the heroes, Isteval seemed to recognize the name. Christos staggered away from the knight's hands snarling in rage and called for Nadir. In the safety of the city's walls, they were greeted by Sir Isteval, a retired Purple Dragons knight. Unable to withstand the guards, the mysterious attackers retreated back into the forests. As the party approached the open gate they were met with militia yells, arrow fire, and terrifying snarls and shouts chased the heroes into the city. The long three-day track was filled with challenges of the wilderness and scavengers but the heroes managed to reach Daggerford with lord Tellum's son alive.

Even though Christos had strange outbursts, the heroes needed to escort the nobleman back to Dagggerford, to the Dutchess. In the morning, well-rested and well-fed, Christos revealed that he, indeed, was the last survivor of his group, and the flask was the goal of the expedition - it contained high magic. The adventurers couldn't do anything but camp for the night. The kept a flask close claiming it was his at last and collapsed of exhaustion. The heroes made their way through the monsters of wilderness and bandits to find the young Christos alone, famished, wearing rags leftover from his expensive clothes. The nobleman went missing in the Dessarin Valley after the recent forest fires, along with his party - eight well-armed guards, Q'ellon the Arcane, and Ardin, the local ranger guide. The Dutchess requested adventurers' help in the search for Christos Tellum, the heir to Tellum's Hold near Waterdeep. The word of the heroic stand spread far enough to reach Dutchess Daggerford's attention. The heroes saved the city and cleared the dungeon. The heroes came to renown after an unnamed town in the vicinity of Daggerford was besieged by monsters from the dungeon not far from it.
